Stunning & Proper - John Leckie

Love Comes In All Colours

Maria is in hospital with a chronic nose infection on the left side. Maxillar Sinusitis. Her doctor said absence of the air transparency, indicating the presence of fluid in contrast to the other side due to allergy, auto - immune issue hemoytic anemia. In other words, she is being suffocated by mucus and needs an operation or she might die. I am about to fight my fourth repossession battle in as many years after a filthy, lying bastard of a mortgage broker landed me with a filthy sub prime mortgage product six years ago. I spent all last year, attempting to bring the broker and mortgage company to justice through the advice of court literature and paying the court £1,200 for a combined part 7 and part 8 Claim I made on the courts advice. On November the 15th 2011, the hearing was set. I showed up at court on time in my suit. The mortgage company weren't there, just the brokers lawyer. The judge asked me if I knew the purpose of the hearing? Of course I did I said, I put the claim in, but where are Kensington I asked? The judge replied with this (I couldn't believe my fucking ears) I have had words with my learned brother and I assure you that is the end of the matter with Kensington. She then told me that the purpose of the hearing was for the broker to have the claim struck out against me, which it promptly was and I was landed with £5,000 court fees. I turned my back on both the judge and broker's lawyer and walked out of court, to a phonebox and rang the OJC with my last 50p and told them the disgrace that had just happened. The OJC are currently listening to a tape recording of the hearing. If they find I was patronised in any way (the judge and the broker both said that my claim was incoherrant, I am a critically acclaimed songwriter and author and it wasn't that incoherrant for the court to take £1,200 off me!!!) justice will be served. The song of the day is from the The Staples Singers classic album 'Be What You Are'. One of the worst covers of all time, but an album I cannot recommend highly enough. I dedicate it to my love Maria. I can't be ased fighting another repossession battle. Stick your house and your class system up your arse Britain. I am going over to be by Maria's side when she wakes up from the operation.

MAN NOT AFRAID TO GO OUT

Well folks, it's been two and a half years of developing this little homage to decent music but no-one is buying anything. So it's time to get real and see if I can get a job that pays me some decent coin, so I can promote it properly. Word of mouth isn't good enough, people need to be told what to buy. Mind you, Just got off the phone to John Leckie, who filmed the live My Computer videos below and we agreed that the music business is dead as nobody has to buy music anymore. You just watch what you want on You Tube or get offered it for free via interviews with your favourite bands online. I am posting a couple of videos of me performing, at the mic, some of my favourite songs from Good Neighbour and My Computer, in Adsinthe's studio, in Moston, Manchester. Who ate all the pies? I did and I enjoyed them. Anything interesting happening? Simon Napier Bell got in touch through Linked In a couple of weeks ago. I was amused and shocked in equal measure by his Christmas Rape tale in The Huffington Post, so I sent him my book and Lost Christmas and said we should hook up and exchange Rock 'n' Roll stories. I haven't heard back. I will be joining him in South East Asia in June though, as I am moving over to the Philippines to live with my fiance Maria. Just gotta find that fucking job, or a publisher for the suite of albums I have made around Manchester over the last six years, or indeed my book, which is as candid a write as you will find nowadays. I visited Maria in October and we went to visit her sister in the chocolate hills. Her sister lived in a bamboo house, with a corrugated steel roof which looked like the Recreation shop. They had no gas or electricity and the men started drinking gin and juice at 9am. Luckilly, I'd bought a cheap acoustic for a tenner. After I'd spent most of the day in bed with Maria, I got up to a chicken dinner meticulously prepared. Then the family came in and wanted me to play them a song. I said I took requests and asked them what they wanted to hear? The Beatles, the Stones, The Kinks, The Who. Who? was the answer that came back. They hadn't heard of any of them. They hadn't seen a white man before and they didn't speak a bastard word of English. All they knew was Seasons In The Sun and Evergreen. I said I'd never heard of 'Seasons In The Sun' and that 'Evergreen' was a piano song. I then played them 'New Coat Of Paint' by Tom Waits and 'Vision On' and it got the party going. Two hours later, I was pissed up with the men on gin and juice, at 9pm. Who needs electricity, when you've got an acoustic, chicken, gin and juice?

Me and Maria having fun at Magellans Landing Pub & Restaurant in Cebu in October.

Free - Muddy Water

The music business might be dead, but the music isn't. Why did Queen hire Paul Rodgers to replace Freddie? Here's why. It is too complicated and time consuming to keep updating the Recreation Top 10 so I am just posting, daily, my all time favourite songs.
