Rod Smith, Mancunian guitar hero and gifted songsmith, got back in touch with his childhood friend and lead vocalist in Hulio Ridiculo and Kid Dynamo Andy Chester this week. After 8 years of not seeing each other, he came to Andy's house with a wooden case of Hulio master tapes which captures all the magic, madness and youth of their live shows, as well as rehearsals and demo's. Andy is now listening to these recordings and compiling an anthology of Hulio Ridiculo for release on Recreation in the near future. Rod also bought with him, his debut album Statement Of Purpose; an album of immeasurable beauty and quality song writing. It left Graham Thomas and Andy Chester in no doubt about it's genius when they listened to it for the first time the following evening, in Recreation HQ, Albatross Grove.
