01 FOR SOMEONE ELSE
A song about someone who was once very much in love (only he didn't realise it at the time) until later on in his life when he realised it was the real thing...but by then it was to late...

02 MAD ELAINE
Song about a laid back guy trying to make the best of his relationship, despite having to struggle to accommodate his high maintenance girlfriend (and all her problems) I've never actually known a girl called Elaine, but the general idea is an obvious one regarding round pegs & square holes.

03 THE TICKING BOMB
"And be afraid, the ticking bomb won't ever change it's course, it just goes on"
I watched a programme on the likeliness of an asteroid hitting the earth on an apocalyptic scale and apparently its not a question of "if" but more a question of "when". Musically these ideas tend to lead on the more heavy destructive side! So here's the softer approach to the end of the world.

04 WHEN I WAS YOUNG
A sad song about people in your life: i.e. friends, who once meant so much, but have long since disappeared or been left by the roadside somewhere because of silly differences & petty arguments (lost, but never forgotten). The song builds to its uplifting finale & expresses this sentiment.

05 PETER & LOIS
Sentimental song about a couple I used to know, unfortunately they moved away to the countryside so I don't see them anymore, however they were very quirky & entertaining (a real boyfriend/girlfriend double act) who I felt were made for each other...i wrote this in contrast to my own relationship, which at that time was the opposite.

06 IN THAT PLACE
Trying to deal with everybody else's problems when you can't even deal with your own. Know the feeling?
Sometimes even a job can involve this! Its a case of looking closer at yourself & the people around you and trying to figure out what you think they want to hear!

07 LONLEY FRIDAY NIGHT
Wrote this song in 30 mins, everything just flowed and for my money remains one of the best I've done (I really like it!!).   A tender love song full of hope...somebody get  a bucket!!!!

08 SOMETIMES I NEED A FRIEND
Found myself completely alone at one period in my life...not a friend left in the whole world it seemed. A combination of artistic fallouts, and that time in your 30's when people start having families and disappear never to be seen again..I wrote this song about it.

So many songs have this title, so it must be a human thing? In truth its about an alcoholic...nuff said

10 HOOK, LINE & SINKER
Without a doubt the longest song Ive ever recorded (over a period of time) probably 5 months...love it though so couldnt let it go...like the way it just keep going.

11 COMING HOME
Title says it all really...Cello recorded on very low quality mic...guitar capo'd 5th fret and off we go. Recorded this song a few times before, but prefer this version on account of its honesty. All in all...about my hometown and where I grew up.
