eViL sPaNiSh was a My Computer album that took Andy away from the electronic experiments of the first three My Computer albums and back to his indie rock roots. It was recorded with Black Jackson, in their mill, in Radcliffe, Manchester and took three months to write and record. Some of the songs used on this album were from No Computer. Black Jackson loved No Computer so much, that they agreed to be My Computers backing band for eViL sPaNiSh and a trip to Alan McGees death disco in London.
